COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Information

June 30, 2021

Dear Seton Hill University Community,

We are pleased to announce that Seton Hill University will host a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. that is open to all. As part of the registration process, you will have the option to select the Pfizer (two dose) or Johnson and Johnson (one dose) vaccine. The clinic will be held in the McKenna Center on the 2nd floor walking track.

The details for the vaccination clinic follows:

COVID-19 VACCINATION CLINIC THROUGH HAYDEN'S PHARMACY ON FRIDAY, July 9, 2021 FROM 9 A.M. TO 12 P.M.

Seton Hill will offer the July 9 clinic through Hayden's Pharmacy providing the Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

STEPS TO TAKE PRIOR TO JULY 9

We encourage all members of the Seton Hill community to receive the COVID-19 vaccination at this July 9 clinic. In order to receive the vaccine that day:

Visit https://haydenspharmacy.com/covid-19-vaccine/ and complete the Hayden's Pharmacy registration form. You must complete this form by July 3 to ensure that Hayden's brings adequate vaccine supply on the day of the clinic. At the end of the registration, individuals will receive a CONFIRMATION MESSAGE in a green box.

STEPS TO TAKE ON CLINIC DAY - JULY 9

  1. Once on campus, please follow signs to the McKenna Center Lobby registration area;
  2. Bring Photo Identification;
  3. Bring any health insurance and/or Medicare cards if applicable;
  4. Please wear a loose fitting shirt to allow for easy access to the top of the arm;
  5. Wear a mask.

SPECIAL NOTES FROM HAYDEN'S PHARMACY

If anyone is actively showing symptoms of COVID-19 on the date of the clinic, Hayden's Pharmacy asks that they wait to receive this vaccination until the end of the recommended quarantine.  Also for individuals who could possibly be pregnant, please confer with your OBGYN prior to the vaccination.

Recipients who are receiving their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine during the July 9 vaccination clinic will need to return for a second dose of the vaccine at a clinic that will be scheduled on July 30. You will receive a communication from Hayden's Pharmacy directing you to register for the second dose clinic.

 If you would like to receive the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and cannot attend the July 9 clinic, you may attend the July 30 clinic to receive this vaccine. Registration on the Hayden's website for the July 30 clinic will be available.

For the Pfizer vaccine, all injections are intramuscular in the deltoid muscle. First dose will be in the left arm, while the second dose will be in the right arm unless there are any medical reasons or complications. Please dress appropriately.  The top of the shoulder must be accessible for the injection; we will not have private screened areas.

For the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, all injections are intramuscular in the deltoid muscle and can be administered in either arm. Please dress appropriately.  The top of the shoulder must be accessible for the injection; we will not have private screened areas.

- Hayden's personnel will administer the vaccinations. They will follow all safety protocols, including wearing masks and PPE. They will be prepared to respond to or address any allergic reactions and will re-inspect the injection site 15 minutes afterward to ensure there are no complications.

We encourage every member of the Seton Hill community who has not already started the vaccination process to participate in this clinic. As a reminder, students enrolled in on-campus classes or engaged in on-campus activities must be vaccinated prior to the 2021-22 academic year or receive a medical or religious exemption. Vaccination is our best tool for getting past the pandemic and back to a pre-COVID campus experience.

Thank you for all you do to continue to keep our Seton Hill University Community healthy and safe.
