Announcement from President Finger

August 6, 2020

Dear Students,

As we reach the final days before classes are set to begin for the Fall 2020 semester on August 17, I write to remind you that Seton Hill has prioritized the health and safety of our university community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The university’s leadership has worked tirelessly over the past several months to begin face-to-face classes on August 17.  We have done this because we recognize that the vast majority of Seton Hill students want to return to campus for in-person classes in a residential setting. Face-to-face teaching and learning are at the core of our mission as a Catholic, liberal arts university, and we plan to continue these efforts under new policies and procedures that follow state and federal guidelines.

Seton Hill has invested significant time and resources in preparing for a safe return to campus. Seton Hill has taken a number of steps to prepare for this semester. As a reminder, the Return to Campus Plan can be found at www.setonhill.edu/ReturntoCampus.  If you have not done so already, please review the plan so that you are aware of the processes in place to help ensure a safe return to campus.

While we plan to return to face-to-face classes, we recognize that some students may prefer to attend classes in alternate and virtual formats for health or other reasons. As we have indicated in previous communications, students who wish to explore class accommodations for the Fall 2020 semester must contact the Office of the Registrar, no later than Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at HelpFinReg@setonhill.edu so that options for virtual learning can be addressed in a timely manner before the start of classes.

I look forward to welcoming you to campus this fall, and I thank you in advance for following the policies and protocols that have been put in place to prioritize health and safety so that we may continue to offer face-to-face learning at Seton Hill during this pandemic.

Sincerely,

Dr. Finger
