Program-Specific Requirements

In addition to the University's requirements for admission to graduate school, applicants to the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy Program must participate in an interview with program faculty. Once your application to the university is complete it will be reviewed by the program faculty, at which point you may receive an invitation to the next scheduled prospective student interview.

Admission Deadlines

Students are admitted on a rolling basis and can begin the Marriage and Family Therapy Program in the fall, spring or summer semesters. Students may elect to complete the program on a full-time basis (6 - 7 semesters) or on a part-time basis, which will take longer depending on the number of courses taken each semester.

Rolling admission will remain the program's policy with the clarification that we will accept a certain number of students each year. Once we meet our goal we will suspend new admissions until the next admission cycle.

Note: No person will be admitted to the program if they have been a client of the Center for Family Therapy within the previous two years of application. After the two-year time span has concluded a prospective student can apply for admission.

“Seton Hill has provided me the opportunity to see the world around me through a different lens and celebrate who I am as an individual. It is my desire to introduce Marriage and Family Therapy to individuals and families back home in Ghana and formulating theories that include the complexities and beauty of the African family.”

- Phebe Brako, a 2013 graduate of the Marriage & Family Therapy Program.
