Undergraduate Programs
"A university where students receive a high quality liberal arts education."
Seton Hill students are liberated thinkers, well prepared to enter the workforce of the 21st century. These are the key factors which make the Seton Hill experience special.
- Seton Hill faculty are top-notch scholars and teachers. As a student, you benefit from a small student/faculty ratio (15:1) where faculty actually know your name and your major and can help you achieve success.
- All students entering Seton Hill develop excellent communication skills, critical and creative thinking abilities, an understanding of historical and world perspectives and the ability to be reflective on their commitment to the world. What's more, students are asked to become risk takers and think out of the box - entrepreneurial skills necessary to be a leader in the next generation.
- Reaffirming the relevance of the liberal arts, Seton Hill recognizes that all undergraduate students have a "common major" in the liberal arts, as well as a major in a particular discipline, resulting in a well-rounded person. Learning occurs from the perspective of the arts, mathematics, sciences, culture, history, and literature. Students are expected to learn through personal experiences and reflection as well as through critical reading, review of and participation in research, and understanding of theory and skills applications.
- Faculty are enhancing the teaching-learning environment through the use of technology. In our courses you will benefit from the expansion of information through the integration of the world wide web, multimedia presentations, use of chat rooms, threaded discussions, and academic support materials on CDs or on-line. Many classes have down-linked conferences as part of their curriculum, thus exposing students to national/international experts. Some classes interactively join with students on other campuses through videoconference study.
- Upon graduation you will be prepared to present a professional portfolio to potential employers. Because it is important for you to demonstrate what you have learned during your college experience, our faculty have identified essential learning objectives for all students and those objectives particular to your academic major. Throughout your four years of study you will learn how to demonstrate effectively how you have achieved learning in particular areas. In addition to your academic coursework, the portfolio reflects your accomplishments in leadership, clubs, athletics, and community life.
You can find no better student-centered experience! At Seton Hill you will find yourself in a challenging and supportive academic setting. We pay
very close attention to you as a learner. Please link to the particular major or program you are interested in studying. If you have any questions
about the programs you can link to the faculty designated or contact Dr. Mary Ann Gawelek, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty,
at gawelek@setonhill.edu or Ms. Sherri Bett, Director of Admissions at bett@setonhill.edu.
