Credit for Life Experience
Seton Hill offers prospective students a chance to earn up to 30 credits for knowledge gained through life experiences and military service through the:
- College Level Examination Program (CLEP) - This is a nationally recognized series of examinations which allow the student to demonstrate knowledge acquired in a non-college setting.
- Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) - This is a system of portfolio development whereby a student documents substantial prior learning through work or volunteer experience.
- Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) - A series of technical and non-technical exams developed by the Armed Services. These exams complement the CLEP series.
- Challenge Exam - specifically designed exams that provide students with the opportunity to earn credit for prior learning in a specific academic program areas.
