Application Process

To apply to Seton Hill as an Online Bachelor's Degree or Certificate Program student, you will need to provide us with:

  • A completed application form - Apply online for free
  • High school transcript or GED (required for students without an associates degree or less than 60 credit hours completed)
  • Official transcripts for all colleges and universities attended

Seton Hill University has rolling admissions, which means:

  • There is no application deadline
  • We'll respond to you with an admission decision shortly after you've submitted your application and materials

Transcripts

Official transcripts are those sent directly from an educational institution to the university in a sealed envelope or through a secure online service. (Other types of transcripts, such as those issued directly to a student, are not considered "official" for enrollment purposes.)

Transfer Credits

You can transfer up to 90 credits to Seton Hill. To earn a Seton Hill degree:Transfer 90 credits graphic

  • One-half of the credits in your major must be taken at Seton Hill
  • Your final 30 credits must be taken at Seton Hill

We will be happy to take a look at the academic credits you've already earned and give you an unofficial estimate of what will transfer. If you're currently enrolled and plan to transfer in the future, we can help you choose the courses at your current school that will have the best chance of being accepted at Seton Hill.

Official Credit Evaluation

Once admitted into Seton Hill University you will receive an official credit evaluation from the registrar's office indicating which credits will transfer into Seton Hill. 

Transfer Agreements with Other Colleges & Schools

Seton Hill has articulation agreements (an agreement between institutions that coursework taken at one institution will transfer into the program of the other) with a variety of schools, including:

It is not a requirement that your previous institution have an agreement with Seton Hill for your credits to transfer.

Joint Admission Programs (3 + 1)

The Online Bachelor’s Degree Program has special joint admission agreements (some schools refer to these as 3 + 1 programs) with the schools listed below. If you are earning a degree through one of these programs and plan to transfer into one of Seton Hill’s Online Bachelor’s Degrees programs, you may be able to take up to three years of courses (earning your degree and taking another year’s worth of courses you plan to transfer) at your current school (at your current school’s tuition rates), and transfer to Seton Hill for the last 1 - 1.5 years of bachelor’s study. All Seton Hill online bachelor's degree programs are eligible for joint admissions.  If you are interested in transferring into the behavioral health degree, you should be enrolled in a social work, psychology, human services, sociology or similar program at your partner school. Most business majors can transfer into Seton Hill's business programs. We will work with you to select courses at your current school that will transfer into the appropriate Seton Hill online degree.

GPA Requirement


There is no minimum grade point average (GPA) for admission. Admission decisions are based on the number of college-level credits taken, grades earned, and cumulative GPA. If needed, we will refer back to high school grades.
