Is Seton Hill's BSN Program Accredited?

Yes, the Nursing Program has been accredited since 2020. The Nursing Program at Seton Hill is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Why is Accreditation Important?

There are several important reasons to attend an accredited Nursing Program. 

• Nursing accreditation ensures that a program meets national educational quality standards.
• Some states require Nursing Program accreditation for initial RN licensure. (More information is available on the NCSBN site.) 
• You may not be eligible for state or federal aid if you attend an unaccredited institution.
• Most graduate programs require an undergraduate degree from an accredited organization.

Is Seton Hill's Nursing Program State Board Approved?

Yes! The Seton Hill University Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program has achieved Full Approval status from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. The Nursing Program complies with all requirements for a prelicensure nursing education program as identified in the Board’s regulations. Our Program had a successful NCLEX-RN first time Pass Rate for its initial class of graduates. Additionally, to receive Full Approval status, the Nursing Program provided evidence of national nursing accreditation, skills labs and simulation lab spaces, nursing faculty, financial aid, and academic and learning support resources to provide forcontinued positive outcomes and compliance with State Board regulations.

Will Seton Hill's Nursing Program Prepare Me for the NCLEX-RN?

Yes! Upon completion of Seton Hill’s Nursing Program, you will be eligible to take the licensing examination (NCLEX-RN) for professional registered nurses.

We utilize all three of the major health systems in the area (UPMC, AHN, and Independence) as well as other quality local facilities. The Nursing Program chooses locations based on quality and diversity of experiences to meet program goals while also considering ease of accessibility and location for our students. Many of these clinical placements lead to full-time employment at hospitals within acclaimed health networks.
