Three Ways to Enroll

There are three routes to becoming an RDN through the Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics at Seton Hill.  

1. You can enroll as a graduate of Seton Hill's B.S. in Nutrition Science (Phase I of Seton Hill's Integrated Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics).

  • You can move directly into graduate study at Seton Hill as long as you've maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout your undergraduate studies.
  • No graduate application is necessary.
  • You can expect to complete master's study in as little as 3 semesters.

2. You can enroll as a graduate of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) from another college or university. To do so you should:

  • Complete a Seton Hill graduate study application form.
  • Provide a Verification Statement from the ACEND-accredited DPD.
  • Have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout your undergraduate study.
  • Provide official transcripts for undergraduate and any graduate or postbaccalaureate coursework.

3. You can enroll as a graduate of a bachelor's degree program (either nutrition-related or other) at an accredited college or university. To do so you should:

  • Complete a Seton Hill graduate study application form.
  • Have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout your undergraduate study.
  • Provide official transcripts for undergraduate and any graduate or postbaccalaureate coursework.
  • Have completed the following prerequisites:
    • General and Organic Chem with Lab
    • Medical Terminology
    • Biochemistry
    • Microbiology with Lab
    • Safety and Sanitation Certificate
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II with Lab
    • Food Science with Lab
    • Principles of Nutrition

Other courses may need to be completed per discretion of the Program Director.

All candidates and graduates must possess the essential physical, cognitive, and behavioral abilities considered necessary for students admitted to this program to achieve the knowledge, skills and competencies of an entry-level dietitian. Candidates with disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
