Greensburg, PA โ€“ The Community Music Program at Seton Hill University will hold annual auditions for the Youth Honors Band on October 30, 2004. Applications are available from the Community Music office (724-830-1079) or online (www.setonhill.edu/acad/cmp) and are due by October 8th.

This exciting program is open to all instrumental students in grades 6-8. Along with the application form there is a list of the audition solo pieces. Each student prepares the appropriate solo for the audition. Music for the ensemble will be provided later to those selected for the band.

From the auditions, approximately 70 students will be selected to form the 2004-2005 Youth Honors Band, conducted by Dr. Ted DiSanti, professor at Seton Hill. Rehearsals will be held December 4th, January 15th and February 5th. Participants must be available to attend all rehearsals and the concert.

The final concert on February 5th will be held in Cecilian Hall and is free and open to the public.

The Community Music Program at Seton Hill provides private lessons, small ensembles, a Youth Honors Band, an Apprentice Chorus, and a summer camp to area residents of all ages.
