The Seton Hill Youth Honors Band started 15 years ago as an honors band for students of local Catholic schools. After a few years it was opened to all students in the area. Kathleen Campbell, Associate Professor of Music, started this program just a few years after she began the Westmoreland Symphonic Winds, the wind ensemble in residence at Seton Hill. Seton Hill Youth Honors Band is a part of the Community Music Program at Seton Hill, where students can take private lessons and participate in Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, and other ensembles.

Seton Hill, chartered in 1918, is a leading coeducational Catholic liberal arts university with more than 30 undergraduate programs and 7 graduate programs, including an MBA.
