GREENSBURG, PA- The Seton Hill College Women’s Volleyball team completed its 2001 season with a winning record of 20-16 overall and an NAIA American Mid-East Conference record of 11-12, placing the team in 10th place overall in the 21-team conference. In addition, two members of the team, senior Nikki Dominic and sophomore Beth O’Connor were the only two student-athletes from Pennsylvania to be named to the 2001 AMC 2nd Team. The Seton Hill Team lost to Cedarville University in the first round of the Conference.

The Team will graduate three seniors this year: Nikki Dominic, a business major from Greensburg, PA; Corey Pisula, a human resources major also from Greensburg, PA; and Nicole Flores, a mathematics and education double major from Yukon, PA.

Individual honors were presented to 2001 Seton Hill College Volleyball players including:

Nikki Dominic of Greensburg, PA(senior middle hitter): 14th overall in “Kills Per Game” in the Conference with an average of 3.04 per game; named to 1st team at Gettyburg Invitational Tournament; named to 1st team at Goucher Invitational Tournament; and named to 2001 AMC 2nd Team (one of only two student-athletes in Pennsylvania to receive this honor).

Beth O’Connor of Boswell, PA (sophomore middle hitter): 5th overall in “Kills Per Game” in the Conference with 3.67 per game; 13th overall in “Attack Percentage” in the Conference with a 30.3%; 1st overall in “Blocks Per Game” in the Conference with an average of 1.74 per game; and named to 2001 AMC 2nd Team (one of only two student-athletes in Pennsylvania to receive this honor).

Katie Konchar of Beaver, PA (junior setter): 6th overall in “Assists Per Game” in the Conference with an average of 8.84 per game and named to the 2001 AMC Scholar-Athlete as a biology and anthropology double major with a GPA of 3.53.

Nicole Flores of Yukon, PA (senior utility): named 2001 AMC Scholar-Athlete as a mathematics and education double major with a GPA of 3.53.

Corey Pisula of Greensburg, PA (senior defensive specialist): 9th overall in “Aces Per Games” in the Conference with an average of .58 per game.

The Seton Hill College Volleyball Team was also awarded a number of team conference honors, including: 2nd in Aces Per Game; 5th in Blocks Per Game; 14th in Kills Per Game; 10th in Attack Percentage; 12th in Assists Per Game; and 14th in Digs Per Game.
