Jan. 18-25 marks the 100th anniversary of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This upcoming event provides a splendid opportunity for us to express Christ’s ultimate hope “that all may be one” in solidarity with the Church’s Second Vatican Council, which recognized and enthusiastically responded to the urgent need for Catholics and all followers of Christ to celebrate what unites them, by encouraging informed discussion and worship events of this sort.

On January 20, 2008 a “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” Worship Service will be held at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ on N. Main St. in Greensburg, Pa. Bishop Lawrence Brandt will be the speaker on the theme, “Pray Without Ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:12-13). Dignitaries from several other traditions will be present as well.

The Greensburg Ministerium, and I as Seton Hill’s representative, sincerely hope you join us. A blessed New Year!

Fr. Stephen Honeygosky, O.S.B.
