Seton Hill University to Offer Online Master of Arts in Applied Leadership in Criminal Justice Starting August 2024

Seton Hill University will be offering a Master of Arts in Applied Leadership in Criminal Justice as a new online graduate program with the first cohort starting in August 2024.

Full-time students will be able to complete this 30-credit program in one year by taking two classes during each eight-week session, with part-time students (one class per session) being able to complete the program in two years.

Applications are now being accepted for the first cohort with new cohorts beginning annually in August. Tuition discounts are available for first responders, those working in law enforcement, active and former members of the military, employees of Seton Hill Employer Partners, and Seton Hill alumni.

"Seton Hill University is dedicated to being an inclusive, welcoming community, celebrating the diversity of all members,” said Dean of the School of Education and Applied Social Sciences Dr. Kathleen Harris. “The new Criminal Justice Applied Leadership Graduate Program will prepare criminal justice practitioners to engage with diverse populations and communicate effectively in culturally appropriate ways to advocate for socially-conscious change within criminal justice institutions."

“There is a need in the criminal justice field for development of practical skill sets including, but not limited to, elements of writing, public speaking, networking, community engagement, and research interpretation and proposal development. The Applied Leadership in Criminal Justice graduate program includes these important aspects, while focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion elements integral for productive community partnerships,” said Dr. Shavonne Arthurs, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Criminal Justice Program. “The program uniquely prepares students for navigating diverse working relationships and improving self-awareness, producing leaders who will foster a more just environment for the future of the criminal justice field.”
