Seton Hill ran its winning streak to eight games following a five set victory over Mercyhurst on Friday evening at home in a key PSAC West contest.  With the victory, the Griffins improve to 23-5 overall and 11-3 in PSAC play.  The Griffins took the first set by a 25-16 margin.  The key stretch of the first set was a 4-0 Griffin run with Corrine Gahagen serving to give the Griffins a 18-13 lead.  Mercyhurst tied the match at one with a 25-22 victory in the second set.  SHU took advantage of 5 Mercyhurst errors in a stretch where the Griffins went from 9-4 down to up 11-9 in the third set.  SHU took advantage of the errors and took the third set by a 25-19 score.  The Griffins jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the fourth set but it was not enough as the Lakers forced a fifth set with a 25-23 victory.  The fifth set did not start well as the Griffins found themselves down 10-6 but three kills from Gahagen tied the score at 10.  Mercyhurst then led 13-12 before the Griffins closed out the match with three straight points, the final one coming on a Shelby Kyllo kill from Kelsey Profio.
