Baseball catch makes Top 10 on ESPN

Another year, another amazing catch by a Seton Hill baseball player has made ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10.

This time, it was freshman outfielder Jack Whalen who came up with the ball - and with the No. 1 play of the day in sports according to ESPN. The catch came in a Atlantic Regional game on Saturday, May 20 against East Stroudsburg University, which Seton Hill won 10-4.

In fact, the Griffins went on to win the tournament - defeating Mercyhurst University twice on Sunday - and have advanced to the Atlantic Super Regional in Millersville on May 26 and 27. A tournament victory will send the Griffins to the NCAA Division II National Championships in North Carolina in June.

Whalen's catch is the third time in three years a Seton Hill baseball play has been featured in the Top 10 on SportsCenter. Derek Orndorff in 2021 and Neal McDermott in 2022 were also recognized.
