We are resuming the Youth Honors Ensembles for the 2021-2022 season! See below for details!
About the Orchestra
The Seton Hill University Youth Honors Orchestra is a brand new enriching opportunity for student string players in grades 6, 7, and 8. After the initial audition, selected orchestra students meet for three rehearsals, the last culminating with lunch and a concert at Seton Hill University’s Performing Arts Center. Dr. Jessica Vaughan-Marra, Coordinator of Music Education at Seton Hill University directs the orchestra and students will have the opportunity to work with Seton Hill string faculty and students.
Auditions are held in early November and rehearsals are December and January. The concert is part of the day of the last rehearsal and is free and open to the public. There is a fee of $10 to audition and a fee of $65 to participate if selected for the orchestra. Information on fees, schedules, and policies can be found on the audition application.
Send in the Audition Application along with the fee by the deadline. After the deadline, you will be notified by email of your scheduled audition time. These times will start at 10 am on the audition day and run in 6 minute intervals until all musicians have auditions.
