Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Successful in Granting a Local Child's Wish

Seton Hill's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has been working hard to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"In Division II, the charity of choice is the Make-A-Wish Foundation," explains Christian Carter, a member of SAAC. "SAAC has been working extremely hard this year to raise $3,900 to grant a wish for a child in the Westmoreland County region. Through fundraising events, solicitation at athletic contests and generosity from the Seton Hill community SAAC was able to raise just over $2,200."

Chris Wright, a Business Administration - Marketing student in Seton Hill's Adult Degree Program, attended a presentation about these efforts by SAAC Board Member Tim Schreiber. Moved by the presentation, Chris approached his employer, Union Quarries, and its Board of Directors to facilitate a donation of $3,900 needed to grant a wish.

I have been afforded many opportunities in my life and career, and this donation is way for me, and the employees at Union Quarries, to provide an opportunity to SAAC, students and the family of a child.

SAAC is looking forward to working with the local Make-A-Wish chapter to coordinate the granting of a wish - to take place on Seton Hill's campus - for a local child.
