Associate Dean for Nursing and Health Sciences
Seton Hill University is pleased to announce the search for an Associate Dean for Nursing and Health Sciences in the College of Health and Natural Sciences. Seton Hill is a Catholic University located just 35 miles from Pittsburgh and nestled atop 200 wooded acres in Greensburg, PA. The university was founded by the Sisters of Charity with a legacy built on resilience, adaptability and an unwavering belief in the power of education. A newly restructured College of Health and Natural Sciences has seen progressive growth in the health sciences, with the addition of undergraduate nursing in 2019, DPT in 2021, and a developing Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program. The College of Health and Natural Sciences enrolls the largest number of students on the Seton Hill campus with a total of 733 students in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
The successful candidate will be an innovative and collaborative leader who will provide the vision and creativity in developing new academic health programs with an initial emphasis on launching graduate nursing programs. Reporting directly to the Dean of the College, the Associate Dean will be a key leader in oversight of the health programs in the College and advancing the mission of Seton Hill in preparing students to practice in an increasingly complex society. Assistant/Associate Professor Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
Tentative Starting Date: Until the position is filled
Seton Hill University Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics invites applications for a full-time, Clinician-Educator track at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Academic rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Candidates must possess a dental degree DMD/DDS; must have completed post-graduate education in orthodontics from an ADA CODA graduate program, and must have, or be eligible for a dental license in the State of Pennsylvania before hired. Pennsylvania does not offer a restricted temporary faculty license for our program. ABO certification, master’s degree, and experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice are desirable. Responsibilities are mainly teaching (didactic and clinical supervision of residents), but may also include research, administrative duties, and service. All duties are at the graduate level since there is no pre-doctoral program. The salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and credentials. Program Director, Occupational Therapy Doctorate
The School of Natural and Health Sciences at Seton Hill University invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position, beginning fall 2025, to serve as the Program Director, and core faculty member, of a developing Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program. Internal and accreditation (ACOTE) approvals will be completed by summer 2025. Join an enthusiastic Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and an experienced Doctoral Capstone Coordinator to create learning experiences and recruit the first class to enroll in fall 2026.
Seton Hill’s occupational therapy doctorate program focus is optimizing health and wellbeing throughout the lifespan by engaging in meaningful activities and occupations. The program fosters wellbeing and life balance for students, faculty, fieldwork educators and clients. Experiential learning is supported by all program faculty
Responsibilities and Duties
The Program Director is a core faculty member responsible for the management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development. The Director reports to the Dean and Provost.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Eight years of occupational therapy experience including
- Clinical practice as an occupational therapist
- Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
- Scholarship (e.g. scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning)
- Understanding of the role of the occupational therapist assistant
- At least three years of experience on a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postbaccalaureate level.
- Doctoral degree (professional entry or post professional).
- Commitment to optimizing health and wellbeing through occupation.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster collaborative problem-solving.
- Exceptional ability to multitask and manage projects.
- Commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence.
- Licensed or eligible for Pennsylvania occupational therapy licensure.
Experience preferred in- Working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds.
- Supervising, managing or mentoring others.
