Graduate Assistant Coach - Men's Wrestling
This part-time position will serve as a Graduate Assistant for the University's Men's Wrestling Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities.
- Support recruitment and retention of student-athletes aligned with the university’s mission.
- Promote respect, discipline, and wellness among athletes.
- Assist with promoting an atmosphere of compliance.
- Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete well-being.
- Handle team logistics, including scheduling, travel, and equipment.
- Represent the program positively in the community and at university events.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts and program development.
- Stay updated on coaching trends and engage in professional growth opportunities.
- Ensure NCAA and university compliance and stay updated on coaching best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must be admitted into a Seton Hill University MBA or Education Graduate Program
- Coaching or playing experience in Sport
- Strong organizational and communication skills, computer competency, ability to relate with various constituencies of the university
- Commitment to the mission of the university
- A commitment to compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University rules
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Currently credentialed/willingness to become CPR, First Aid and AED certified

- College playing experience
- College coaching experience

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Seton Hill University seeks to fill a Graduate Assistant position within the Office of New Student and Transition Programs. The purpose of this position is to assist with the overall success for the Office of New Student and Transition Programs at Seton Hill University, including but not limited to: the implementation of Welcome Weekend and other orientation initiatives; the selection and training of related student leaders; and service as a student conduct officer.
The Graduate Assistant advises approximately 20-30 student leaders, such as Orientation Leaders and Orientation Leader Coordinators.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Co-coordinates implementation of Office of New Student and Transition Programs related projects, including but not limited to: Setonian Orientation and Welcome Weekend.
- Assists in development and implementation of Orientation Leader recruitment, selection, and training.
- Schedules and coordinates meetings, interviews, appointments, and/or other similar activities with students; ensures students are aware of rights and responsibilities. Observes and adjudicates current conduct cases. Implements and/or coordinates educational sanctions assigned to students, including scheduling.
- Partner with key university stakeholders and departments, such as Residence and Commuter Life, the Counseling Center, Career and Professional Development Center, Health Services, Campus Ministry, Maintenance and Custodial Services, Food Services, and other offices as necessary to develop services/initiatives that promote successful student transitions into Seton Hill University and throughout a student’s university experience.
- Maintains required weekly office hours (averaging 20 in-office hours per week).
- Performs all other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree and acceptance into one of Seton Hill University eligible graduate programs is required.
- Ability to carry oneself in a professional manner while working and on campus.
- Availability and flexibility for work schedule that could include nights and weekends.
- The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, in person and by telephone, and must be able to travel within the University community as well as externally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in counseling, student leadership, orientation, and/or residence life is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.

Graduate Assistant - Resident Director

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time (Approximately 20 hours per week)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Resident Director (RD) position is a ten-month, live-in graduate assistant position within the Office of Residence Life. The RD is responsible for the management and operations of assigned residence halls; to implement and monitor specific programs and services; to supervise and advise Resident Assistants; and to participate in the on-call duty rotation.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Manages the overall operation of the assigned residence hall(s) including facility management, timely completion of reports, administrative tasks, minor disciplinary meetings, special projects, etc. The RD will be provided with the opportunity to work with two different areas during their time with the institution.
- Establishes and maintains a residence hall environment conducive to living and learning.
- Fosters the social, recreational, cultural, and educational development of the residents in the assigned residence hall by oversight of programming opportunities and supervision of the RA staff.
- Serves as a liaison between the students and the Office of Residence Life, Dean of Students, Counseling Center, Career and Professional Development Center, Opportunity Program, Health Services, Campus Ministry, Maintenance and Custodial Services, Food Services, and other offices as necessary.
- Assists in development and implementation of Resident Assistant training and selection.
- Serves in a rotation of campus-wide on-call duty.
- Maintains 20 hours per week. This typically includes approximately 15 hours in the office plus duty, staff meetings, etc.
- Attends weekly staff meetings with Resident Assistant staff and Residence Life professional staff.
- Creates and maintains a team of paraprofessionals to assist with community building and building management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree and acceptance into one of Seton Hill University’s eligible graduate programs.
- Conduct themselves as professional staff members while in the office which includes dress, behavior, and attitude.
- Flexibility of work environment and schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Integrity, flexibility, positivity, adaptability, strong work ethic.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in Residence Life preferred.
