One Week Summer Music Workshop on Pop, Rock, and Jazz Performance for Musicians & Vocalists in Grades 8-12

Songwriting

Through individual and group instruction, students will learn the art of songwriting in a variety of popular music styles.

Pop/Rock Ensembles

Students will be grouped into small pop/rock ensembles appropriate to each student's performance ability. Led by members of the Commercial Music faculty, each ensemble will rehearse daily and will perform in a concert on the final day of the camp.

The History of Pop/Rock

Students will be introduced to the history of rock music and its influence on today's music.

Making Money in the Music Business (Music Business and Entrepreneurship)

Explore various topics of the Music Business

Music Production & Technology

Students will get hands-on experience with Digital Audio Workstations and will learn the basics of recording, MIDI sequencing, and other production techniques.

Private Instruction

Students will get individualized instruction and masterclasses on their primary instrument or voice from members of our renowned Commercial Music faculty.

Pop/Rock Theory & Keyboard Skills (Commercial Keyboard and Theory)

Students will learn the basics of music theory and its practical application in songwriting, composition, and analysis of popular music and jazz.
