Tuition Exchange
Tuition Exchange Programs at Seton Hill University
For the Eligible Dependents of Employees at Participating Institutions
Seton Hill University proudly participates in two national tuition exchange programs that provide competitive scholarship opportunities for eligible students. Through these programs, eligible dependents of employees at participating institutions may qualify to attend Seton Hill at a substantially reduced tuition rate, based on availability and selection criteria.
1. The Tuition Exchange (TE)
Tuition Exchange (TE) is a competitive scholarship program that connects a national network of colleges and universities. Through TE, eligible students may apply to attend Seton Hill and receive a full or partial tuition scholarship. Awards are limited and highly competitive, so not all applicants are guaranteed acceptance.
2. The Council of Independent Colleges Tuition Exchange Program (CIC–TEP)
Seton Hill also participates in the Council of Independent Colleges Tuition Exchange Program (CIC–TEP). This network of private colleges and universities provides reciprocal tuition scholarships to dependents of eligible faculty and staff employed at participating CIC institutions. Like TE, the CIC–TEP program expands access and affordability, but participation and benefits depend on each student’s eligibility and the availability of awards.
Who Can Apply
Students who are listed as dependents on the FAFSA, and who have a parent/guardian who is employed full-time at a participating institution.
Student Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Because Seton Hill receives many more applicants than available awards, tuition exchange programs are highly competitive. Selection is based on both academic and holistic review, including:- GPA and overall academic performance.
- Rigor of high school curriculum (AP, IB, Honors).
- Class rank (if provided).
- Standardized test scores (ACT/SAT, if submitted).
- Personal statement or essay or video (background, experiences, achievements).
- Intended major (may be considered).
