About Seton Hill's Music Department
The Seton Hill Music Department boasts a nationally-recognized faculty with local roots, small class sizes, and state-of-the-art facilities. We offer degrees in Music, Commercial Music, Music Education, Music Performance, Sacred Music and Music Therapy, in addition to various certificates. (Details below.)
Department of Music Mission Statement
The Music Department at Seton Hill University seeks to educate musicians who will think and act critically, creatively, and ethically; who will develop a personal commitment to and become an advocate for the art of music; and who are prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities for careers in music in the twenty-first century.
Performing Arts Center
Seton Hill’s expansive Performing Arts Center will provide you with multiple performance venues, including the Carol Reichgut Concert Hall, renowned for its fine acoustics. You’ll also enjoy learning, rehearsing and using new technology at the Center, which is perfectly suited for music making at the highest levels. Seton Hill produces a complete season of concerts and workshops every year.
Ensembles
Seton Hill's Music Program offers a full range of large and specialized ensembles. All music majors are involved with ensembles; most ensembles are also open to non-music majors.
Auditions & Music Scholarships
In addition to the University’s requirements for admission, all music majors must audition to be accepted into the Music Department. Consideration for music scholarships is determined by the quality of the audition.
