2018 graduate of the Seton Hill Psychology Program, Jennifer Thomas now serves her community at the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania. At her organization, she has been a Community Engagement Manager since 2022. With personal lived experience of housing instability, Jen has always been grounded in the belief that housing is a human right. She earned her Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in community organizing and social action from the University of Pittsburgh. Her work with the Housing Alliance focuses on amplifying the voices of those with lived experience, advancing voter engagement and education, supporting policy advocacy, and providing evidence-based educational opportunities through webinars and the annual Homes Within Reach Conference. She also leads initiatives on effective storytelling to strengthen advocacy efforts and on zoning reform to expand access to affordable housing. Prior to her time with the Housing Alliance, Thomas worked in student housing and with a grassroots animal advocacy organization.
Thomas was recently honored as a GOLD Award recipient. Seton Hill University honored its inaugural class of Griffin GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Award recipients in October. The GOLD award recognizes recent graduates for their exceptional early career success, community leadership, and significant personal achievements.
