Doug studied Violin Performance at Duquesne University with violin guru, Charles Stegeman, a Curtis and Juilliard graduate. While at Duquesne, he was coached in chamber music by world-renowned cellist Mischa Quint and given the fundamentals of great orchestral playing by Hong-Guang Jia and conductor Kevin Noe.
Doug has also studied with Sidney Harth and David Cerone.
He continued to sharpen his technique and style by participating in workshops and masterclasses with the worlds best violinists and pedagogues including Mimi Zweig and Eugene Drucker.
Since 1999, Doug has performed with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra.
Doug performs on a David Burgess violin and bows by Benoit Rolland and Pierre-Yves Fuchs.
