Sami Alshalwi holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University (2012), with a concentration in Databases, Data Mining, and Bioinformatics. He earned this degree through a prestigious scholarship awarded by the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education to top-performing students. He also hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Omar Al-Mukhtar University in Libya, earned in 1999.
With over 12 years of experience in higher education, Mr. Alshalwi has taught a broad range of computer science courses, including Databases, Data Structures, Analysis of Algorithms, Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Data Mining, Web Data Mining, Machine Learning, Discrete Mathematics, and Object-Oriented Programming. His teaching reflects a strong commitment to academic rigor and student success.
Mr. Alshalwi's research interests span bioinformatics and sentiment analysis, and he has published scholarly work in both fields. In addition to his academic background, he brings more than 20 years of industry experience, having designed and implemented information systems for both private and public sector clients.
He has also held executive leadership roles, serving as CEO of two private IT companies in Libya, each employing over 15 staff members. His combined experience in academia, research, and industry uniquely equips him to bridge theory and practice in the field of computer science.
