Soprano Kelly Fiona Lynch has performed in houses across the United States, Italy and Central America. Some of her most recent successes are excerpts from Elvira from Ernani, Medora from Il Corsaro, Aïda from Aïda, Leonore from Il trovatore, Lady Macbeth from Macbeth, Isolde from Tristan und Isolde, Santuzza from Cavelleria Rusticana, and Cio Cio San from Madama Butterfly. She also produced and sang the title role in Bellini’s Norma. Because of her performing ability, acting skills and vocal timbre, she was recently asked to perform the title role in Bizet’s Carmen.
Oratorio repertoire she has performed includes the soprano solos in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Verdi’s Requiem and Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder.
Perfect pitch and exceptional musical skills have also proved her worth to the world of modern music. Ms. Lynch has performed Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire as well as the challenging King Harald’s Saga of Judith Weir, and has premiered works by composers such as Eric Moe, Daron Hagen, Roger Zahab and Barbara White. She was recently the guest soloist featured with Alia Musica ensemble, where she performed Reza Vali’s Folksongs No. 8 and the world premiere performance of Eli Tamar’s The Flesh and the Spirit.
Ms. Lynch finished her doctoral work at Louisiana State University, where she majored in Vocal Performance, with a minor in Music History. Her doctoral work was based on King Harald’s Saga, an opera by Scottish-born composer Judith Weir. A challenging vocal work, it requires the artist to sing a capella, as well as create eight different characters. She has since given lecture recitals at many universities. Her Masters Degree was completed at Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Minoring in Piano, Ms. Lynch obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pennsylvania. Ms. Lynch has coached extensively with Igor Chichagov, Ray Blackwell, Patricia O’Neill, and Fiora Contino.
