The Counseling Center offers group and individual counseling services to all Seton Hill students, and is staffed Monday through Friday with additional hours available by request. While students are encouraged to schedule appointments, walk-ins are welcome. Referrals are also made to outside agencies as appropriate.

Students come to the Seton Hill Counseling Center with a wide range of concerns, including relationship issues, gender identification, alcohol or drug usage, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, family problems, sleep disturbance, roommate problems, concentration problems and stress.

Frequently, a student comes to the Counseling Center through a friend, faculty, or student life staff referral; for others, initial contact may be made directly with the staff. Once assistance is requested, the student helps to design a personalized and completely confidential program suited to his/her needs. A schedule of sessions is agreed upon or off-campus referrals may be made. 

All on-campus counseling services are provided at no cost to the student. Students are assured of complete confidentiality in their consultations. No information is released to university personnel, outside agencies, or individuals without the student's explicit authorization in advance. If, however, in the opinion of the counselor, there is a clear and immediate threat to the life or welfare of the student, to other students, or to the community, appropriate preventive actions will be taken.
