Mission Moment

March 26, 2020

Dear Seton Hill University Community,

When Seton Hill made the difficult decision to suspend all in-person classes and events for the remainder of the semester, we knew we did not want to lose the sense of community among students, faculty and staff.

Though we cannot meet in person right now, Seton Hill faculty and staff are developing creative ways that we can continue to live our four pillars of Welcoming, Learning, Celebrating and Serving as we deal with the impact of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Many of you celebrated Mass virtually with the Office of Mission and Identity on Sunday through our YouTube Channel, mass.setonhill.edu. I hope you continue to find our Mass recordings every Sunday and Wednesday comforting in these difficult days.

I would also like to announce the start of Mission Moments – a weekly series of virtual events and messages by the Office of Mission and Identity and Campus Ministry that will serve to bring the Seton Hill community together as Setonians.

The first Mission Moment has been posted today, Thursday, March 26, to mass.setonhill.edu where we celebrate a virtual Lunch with Liz – without the lunch of course! The program includes some outtakes of what the Seton Hill community would have experienced had we been able to participate in the program in-person on campus.

I hope that these Mission Moments and our Mass celebrations, along with daily posts on our Facebook page, Seton Hill University Campus Ministry, will assist you in remaining connected to the Seton Hill Community. I look forward to seeing each of you once we are safely able to gather in-person again.

Please continue to stay safe.

Sincerely,

Sister Maureen O’Brien

Vice President for Mission and Identity
