Luke LewisSports management and business administration - human resources double major Luke Lewis picked a perfect time to start interning with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“If the team advances to the next round,” he says, “I will have the opportunity to work on game nights, which will be awesome!”

“There was a speaker in one of my classes last semester. After his presentation, I walked him to his car, exchanged contact information and just kept in touch with him... A few weeks later, I was offered the position!”

Luke, who will be working with the Partnership Marketing department for the Penguins, used his networking skills to obtain the position.

“There was a speaker in one of my classes last semester.” Luke says. “After his presentation, I walked him to his car, exchanged contact information and just kept in touch with him. An opening appeared and he informed me so I could apply. He got me set up with an interview. A few weeks later, I was offered the position!”

In addition to maintaining a double major, Luke plays defense on the Griffin’s lacrosse team. He begins his internship with the Penguins on May 17. No matter what happens on the ice between now and then, he’s looking forward to working with the Penguins.

“I’m really excited,” he says.
