Workshop presenters will highlight how the convergence of Arab, African, Western, Islamic and Christian cultures impacts Egyptian society past and present. We will begin a discussion on how the Western world developed as a result of synergies, divergence, and the "clash of civilizations", and how the "Oriental" world has responded and evolved as a result of interactions with the West, as witnessed in Egypt.

There is a $15 registration fee. Those attending will receive curriculum enhancements, a light breakfast and lunch (Egyptian cuisine). The workshop will be held locally at the University of Pitt, Greensburg.

Secondary educators are also invited and will receive Act 48 credit hours.
