Greensburg, PA – Cathy Giunta, Assistant Professor of Business at Seton Hill, has been named Human Resource Professional of the Year by the Westmoreland Human Resource Association (WHRA). The newly established award recognizes creative approaches and consistently high performance that benefit the awardee’s organization as well as their business and professional communities. According to the WHRA, awardees represent the best in the human resources profession: individuals who serve as role models, who set standards for others and the profession, are leaders rather than followers, and who apply their professional expertise outside of their organizations.

“HR Professionals know they can change people’s lives,” said Giunta. “I have seen the growth of the human resource management profession across the country mirrored in this region. The excitement surrounding this field is evidenced by the impact of the WHRA and by the increasing number of HR professionals attending Seton Hill’s HR management certification examination preparation and professional development courses, as well as by the number of Seton Hill students majoring in Human Resource Management. I am proud to be part of this excitement.”

The Westmoreland Human Resources Association (WHRA), a chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, exists to provide human resources professionals with opportunities to become educated, to receive informational updates and to network.
