GREENSBURG, PA – Harlan Gallery will present the exhibition “Heart & Soul: Artists Using the Human Heart as Metaphor” from Thursday, February 6- Friday, February 21, 2003. Curated by Leslie Golomb Hartman, director of the American Jewish Museum of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, and in conjunction with the community-based “Working Hearts” organization, the exhibit seeks to increase awareness of heart disease among women, now the leading cause of death for women in the United States.

The artists featured in the exhibit, Patricia Barefoot, Judy Barie, Cheryl Casteen, Maritza Mosquera and Mary Weidner, approach the subject from diverse life experiences and employ diverse media in their explorations of the theme of the human heart.

There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on Thursday, February 6, from 4 - 7 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday - Thursday, 5 - 8 p.m, Friday 1 - 3 p.m. and Sunday 1- 4 p.m., or by appointment.
