Seton Hill University Dance Academy (SHUDA) is proud to present its first major ballet performance, Hans Christian Andersen’s, “The Snow Queen” at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center on Saturday, November 11. Over 25 dance academy students from the Westmoreland county area in addition to10 Seton Hill students will perform in “The Snow Queen.”

Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen” focuses on the friendship between Gerda and Kai, and the adventure they embark upon. It’s Christmas Eve and the townsfolk are lacking the joyful spirit of the holiday. Kai falls under the spell of the bitter Snow Queen, and is abducted by her. On her journey to search for him, Gerda encounters an enchantress, gypsies, kind reindeers and angels. She rescues Kai, and on Christmas Day they retell their adventure to the princess. Everyone in town celebrates the return of wonder and the joy of the holiday season.
