Seton Hill Recognized by Apple for the Fourth Time

Seton Hill University is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2015–2017 for its unique efforts to provide the University’s entire academic community with mobile technology tools and the support to use those resources to enrich and expand teaching and learning throughout campus.

The Apple Distinguished School designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.

“Seton Hill is proud to be recognized by Apple for the fourth time for the University’s innovative use of technology,” said Mary C. Finger, Seton Hill University president. “Since 2010, Seton Hill has encouraged creative programming that meets the needs of students' unique learning styles through the Mobile Learning @ the Hill program.”

She continued: “Seton Hill also fosters a unique learning environment through the Center for Innovative Teaching, which offers training to faculty on the best ways to integrate technology into the classroom. Through this collaboration, Seton Hill’s students are prepared not only for the careers of today but for the jobs of the future.”

“The use of mobile technology at Seton Hill University enables faculty and students to explore new ideas beyond the walls of the traditional classroom,” said Mary Spataro, director of the Center for Innovative Teaching at Seton Hill and an Apple Distinguished Educator. “Seton Hill faculty continue to embrace new methods of teaching through the use of mobile technology and are engaging students in ways that have a significant impact on the University’s learning community.”
