Lyzona Marshall, assistant professor of business at Seton Hill University, will serve as one of the presenters at the Becoming! Conference hosted by the Onyx Woman Network on June 27. The theme of the 2009 conference is “A Conference for Women Developing into the New Stages of Life.”

Marshall will co-present a session titled, “Ms. CEO,” which will address legal matters, tax responsibilities, and insurance needs of a small business, strategic business planning, and creative financing.

“In my session, I hope to provide more information to women who want to go into business. You have to have a balance in your life when you are an entrepreneur and work from home,” said Marshall.

Prior to Marshall’s work as an assistant professor of business with Seton Hill University, she was the manager of the University’s E-Magnify women’s business center. Marshall still works as a business counselor for E-Magnify and has counseled over 150 entrepreneurs interested in starting or growing a business venture. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bethune Cookman University and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Marshall is currently pursuing her Doctor of Business Administration degree at the University of Phoenix. In 2007, Onyx Woman Magazine recognized Marshall as one of the “Amazing 10” in the Pittsburgh region.
