Greensburg, PA - Seton Hill University is pleased to announce that Molly Robb Shimko, Director of Development and Media Relations, has been named the University’s Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement. In her new role, Ms. Shimko will develop and implement strategies to enhance and sustain the interest of major donor prospects and the media in Seton Hill University. She will also assist in the coordination of capital and annual fund raising projects and in the management of professional staff.

"Under Molly’s leadership, media interest in Seton Hill has intensified and the University’s print media coverage has more than tripled in the last two years. Because Seton Hill is the source of much good news, Molly’s work in that area is especially significant," said Chris Mueseler, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Mueseler added, "Molly’s leadership has enhanced our fund raising efforts as well. She works hard to build interest among alumni and friends in Seton Hill initiatives."

Shimko joined Seton Hill’s Institutional Advancement team in February 1999, first as Director of Development and then, in September 2000, as Director of Development and Media Relations, working closely with the President and Vice President for Institutional Advancement to plan and manage the University’s overall fund raising and media efforts. Ms. Shimko came to Seton Hill from Chatham College where she served as Director of Major Gifts from 1996 to 1999, and Director of Annual Fund from 1994 to 1996. She earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1990 at Saint Vincent College, where she worked as a development officer from 1990 to 1994, and Master of Business Administration from Seton Hill University in 2001.

Ms. Shimko’s professional memberships include the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and the Association of Fund Raising Professionals. In the community, Shimko serves as President of the Board for the Westmoreland County Mental Health Association, and a member of the Board for the Latrobe Area United Way. She is a Past President of the Saint Vincent College Alumni Council and remains an active member.
