GREENSBURG, PA- Seton Hill College welcomes visiting scholar Dr. Abdul Mawjoud Dardery, of South Valley University in Qena, Egypt, who is a visiting the College through the month of February. Dardery will give a public lecture entitled "Islam and America: Clash or Cooperation?" on Thursday, February 14th, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 206 of the Administration Building on campus. In the event of a larger crowd, the presentation will be held in Cecilian Hall on campus.

Dr. Dardery is a long-time friend of SHC, having hosted our students many times on their visits to the Islamic Center. He has been an active participant in Muslim/ Christian dialogue both at the College and in his native Egypt. Dardery earned a Ph.D. in cultural studies from the University of Pittsburgh. While studying in Pittsburgh he was President of the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh and leader of prayer (Imam).

In addition, a display on Islam in honor of Dr. Dardery is currently on view at the Reeves Memorial Library on campus and will be available during the month of February. All are invited to see it and learn more about the Islamic faith.
