Greensburg, PA – Housing in Westmoreland County: An Assessment , a report commissioned by the Westmoreland Coalition on Housing and compiled by two professors at Seton Hill University, will be the topic of a meeting of local housing representatives and public officials held September 25, 2003 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in Room 207 of Seton Hill’s Administration Building. Dr. Jim Paharik, Associate Professor of Sociology and Dr. Marilyn Sullivan-Cosetti, Associate Professor and Director, Social Work Program, worked together in developing the assessment, and will speak on their findings. Sr. Victoria Gribschaw, Chair of the Social Sciences Division at Seton Hill, will serve as moderator for the event.

The research compiled by Drs. Paharik and Sullivan-Cosetti was commissioned by the Westmoreland Coalition on Housing, a coalition of 25 human service organizations committed to identifying and focusing community attention and resources on the housing needs in Westmoreland County. "This report will be of great use to us," said Tim Kimmel, Chairperson of the Coalition. "The data will be used to aid in the preparation of the county’s five-year consolidation plan for HUD, will allow the Coalition to establish housing priorities and will support grant proposals written by County human service organizations."

This meeting is closed to the general public, however, all members of the media are welcome to attend. For more information, please call Dr. Marilyn Sullivan-Cosetti, at 724-830-1065.
