Orthodontics Resident Dr. Robert Schudy Earns Scholarship for Humanitarian Efforts

Dr. Robert Schudy, an orthodontics resident at Seton Hill University, has been named one of four recipients of the Lindsey O. Kesling Orthodontic Resident Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded annually by TP Orthodontics, Inc. in partnership with the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists to residents attending orthodontic programs in the GLAO region. The Lindsey O. Kesling Orthodontic Resident Scholarship Award was created by TP Orthodontics, Inc. to give back to the orthodontic community in a way that helps residents by easing a small part of their financial burden. Applicants submitted an essay on humanitarian / volunteer efforts made by the resident during their years of attendance at their orthodontic residency program. Since 2017, a total of $19,500 has been awarded.

Dr. Schudy, who is scheduled to graduate from Seton Hill's orthodontics program in December 2019, was selected because of his combined volunteer efforts over the past year, which included a trip to Haiti last summer to provide dental care and his work with a patient at the Seton Hill Center for Orthodontics who has special needs. Dr. Schudy has helped provide transportation for the patient, who lives in Pittsburgh, so that he can receive treatment.
