Seton Hill University’s Mobile Learning @ The Hill is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2013–2015 for its unique program that provides the university’s entire academic community with 24/7 access to a world of learning and the tools they need to engage in it fully.

The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.

“Seton Hill is proud to receive this distinction for a third time,” said Phil Komarny, vice president for Information Technology, CIO. “Since 2010, Seton Hill has provided all full-time students and faculty with iPads and all incoming freshmen with MacBooks to provide the tools that encourage their creativity and meet the needs of their unique learning styles.”

“Seton Hill not only provides the hardware that students and faculty use but fosters a dynamic learning environment through its Center for Innovative Teaching, which provides faculty with training on how to best integrate technology into the classroom,” said Interim President Bibiana Boerio. “We use technology to enrich the depth, breadth and quality of our faculty and staff's engagement with students - not as a substitute for that engagement.”

“At Seton Hill, we strive to prepare our students for not only the careers of today but of the future,” Boerio continued. “Providing access to the best in mobile technology is part of our commitment to ensure that our students are, in the words of Elizabeth Ann Seton, ‘fit for that world in which you are destined to live.’”
