Inspired Seton Hill Volleyball Team Earns YWCA Team of the Year Award

The Seton Hill volleyball team could have given up after learning that their friend and former teammate, Maggie Murray '18, had died in a boating accident in Florida midway through their season. 

Instead, they dedicated themselves to playing out the season in Maggie's memory - leading to the team's first-ever PSAC title and a trip to the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament Finals.

In April, the YWCA of Westmoreland County recognized the Griffins as their Women's Sports Team of the Year at the organization's annual Sportswomen of the Year awards. 

The Tribune-Review detailed the inspired season the team and Coach Rick Hall had together.

“All of the winning aside, even if we had a mediocre season, these girls would still be able to see the bigger picture,” Hall told the Tribune-Review. “The one that we all played for this year, and that is our friend, Maggie Murray.”
