This Saturday morning the women's cross country team won the 19 team Carnegie Mellon Invitational defeating nationally ranked IUP with a tied 36 points each but breaking the tie by having the #6 SHU runner finish before the IUP #6 runner. Leading the way for the Griffins was Jeannie Bujdos finishing 3rd overall with a 5k time of 18:27, Alyssa Brandis finished 4th running 18:42, Meagen Carter finishes 5th with a time of 18:43, Leah Schott finished 11th running 19:10, Chelsia Poole finished 13th finishing the 5k course in 19:14, Mary Janak finished 14th with a time of 19:14, Megan Cala was 21st running 19:45, Brianna Presutti finished 29th at 20:01 and rounding out the Griffin top 10 was Megan Weinreber finishing 42nd with a time of 20:19. The women will next compete in their first PSAC championship meet at Kutztown on October 26th and then look to earn an NCAA national meet bid at regionals hosted by Lock Haven on November 9th
