Seton Hill University is ranked among the top colleges in America by Forbes business magazine in its 2010 America’s Best Colleges issue. The rankings are available online.

“I am happy that what I believe about Seton Hill, and Seton Hill alumni, is affirmed by the University’s rank by Forbes business magazine. Seton Hill is unique because it is rooted in tradition but very progressive in its approach to education,” commented Katie Fritsch, president, Seton Hill Government Association. “I love that Seton Hill was the first school in the nation to create a program that that provided an iPad to every full-time student at the beginning of the fall semester. The iPad has changed the environment on campus. Now, any space can be a classroom and we can work collaboratively with our professors and classmates anywhere, anytime.”

Recognized as one of America’s Best Colleges, Seton Hill University was one of 42 Pennsylvania schools ranked and among the top six Catholic colleges in the state. Schools were evaluated by students and alumni; evaluation factors included the University’s student satisfaction, postgraduate success, student debt, four-year graduation rate and competitive awards. Ten percent of the ranking was based on the success of Seton Hill alumni.

The Forbes ranking is designed to meet the needs of undergraduate students. It attempts to help them evaluate things that many believe are important criteria when selecting a college. Forbes uses more than 10 factors in compiling these rankings, with no single factor counting as much as 20 percent. The rankings are objectively determined, with the only subjective judgments being those of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity and Forbes as to which factors to include and the weights to be used in evaluating each factor.
