Seton Hill University’s Farrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Series will present “Doing Business in China,” a free public lecture by Shuming Zhao, on Monday, October 6, at 4:30 p.m. The event will take place in Seton Hill’s Administration Building Room 206 on the University’s hilltop campus in Greensburg, Pa. This event is co-hosted by Seton Hill’s Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and the E-Magnify Women’s Business Center at Seton Hill.

“Dr. Zhao brings a deep understanding of Chinese business culture as well as human resource management and multinational business management,” said Mary C. Finger, Ed.D., Seton Hill President. “We are delighted that he is coming to Seton Hill to provide his insight on the global economy our students will be entering as business leaders and entrepreneurs.”

Keynote speaker Shuming Zhao is a professor and honorary dean of the School of Business at Nanjing University in the People’s Republic of China. Dr. Zhao is President of Jiangsu Provincial Association of Human Resource Management, President of the International Association of Chinese Management Research, and Vice President of the Human Resource Research Association of China. Dr. Zhao has organized and held six international symposia on multinational business management in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, and 2014.

Since 1997, Dr. Zhao has been a visiting professor at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California where he teaches international MBA students. He has also lectured in countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, and Singapore.

An internationally known scholar in human resource management and multinational business management, Dr. Zhao has published more than 20 books and 300 academic papers and articles.

He is an independent director of the board for three listed companies, including MFC Industrial Ltd. (NYSE-listed) and Philippe Metropolitan Bank in China, and is a management consultant for several Chinese and international firms.
