During an Audio Described performance, patrons with vision loss are provided commentary and narration which guides the listener through the show with descriptions of scenes, settings, costumes, etc. in between dialogue or songs. Audio description begins with show notes 20 minutes prior to the start of the performance. This service is made possible by the generous support of Greater Pittsburgh Arts Alliance and City Theatre.
NOTE: Patrons will be required to provide their Driver's License or other Form of Identification in order to use electronic accessibility devices. The ID will be returned when the device is returned to the Box Office.
For People with Hearing Loss

Relaxed Performances (Sensory Friendly)
Available at designated performances
A Relaxed Performance is an inclusive theatrical experience designed to be welcoming to individuals with neurodiverse needs and those attending with them. Along with offering a few technical modifications and support materials, this supportive environment provides an opportunity to attend live theatre in a comfortable setting. As the name suggests, these performances are less formal and more supportive of sensory, communication, movement and learning needs. At no time will anyone be asked to leave the performance due to sound, movement or behaviors related to differing cognitive/developmental abilities. This will be a judgement-free environment.
Social Story Links
What is this? Social stories will tell you what to expect when visiting Seton Hill University's Performing Arts Center. Social stories were invented by Carol Gray to assist people with autism in working through social situations.
