In order to provide research experiences for our students, the Nutrition and Dietetics Program collaborated with the Integrative Cardiac Health Project at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to study health behaviors of college students related to nutrition, exercise, stress, sleep and smoking. To do this we collected information on various parameters, including body composition using our BodPod. We hoped to improve health behaviors by evaluating lifestyle choices and providing individualized interventions using technology. Now that this multi-year research study is completed, students will design and conduct smaller research studies on campus.
