Accelerate Your Achievements

As a music therapy major at Seton Hill, you have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Music degree along with a master’s in marriage and family therapy in only six years.

How it Works

  • Apply and be accepted into Seton Hill University and the Music Therapy to Marriage and Family Therapy FastForward Program.
  • When you meet with your faculty advisor, confirm with him or her that you plan to earn two degrees through the Music Therapy to Marriage and Family Therapy FastForward Program.
  • Your full acceptance into the Music Therapy to Marriage and Family Therapy FastForward Program is considered provisional pending successful completion of all graduate program prerequisite requirements, which include:

As a Second Semester Sophomore

  1. Interview with the Music Therapy Program Director, who is responsible for recommending you for further study in the combined Music Therapy/Marriage and Family Therapy FastForward Program.
  2. Provide evidence of academic achievement, including maintenance of a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  3. Complete a written personal statement regarding your reason for wanting to pursue a graduate degree in marriage and family therapy.

As a Second Semester Junior

  1. Complete the Music Therapy to Marriage and Family Therapy FastForward Program Enrollment Form
  2. Provide evidence of continued academic achievement, including maintenance of a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Once having been formally accepted into the Music Therapy to Marriage and Family Therapy FastForward Program, you will take four graduate-level courses in your senior year (12 graduate level credit hours billed at the undergraduate credit rate).
  • You will receive your bachelor’s degree upon completion of your undergraduate requirements, and earn your master’s degree after completing the rest of the graduate courses required for the degree in marriage and family therapy.
