Seton Hill Music Majors Selected for 2017 PA Intercollegiate Band

Setonians Maryann Rulapaugh (music therapy), Blaine Brubaker (music performance), Noah Young (music education), and Katie Greggerson (music education) have been selected to participate in the 2017 Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band. They were chosen from a pool of students representing more than 30 colleges and universities.

Founded in 1948, the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band is the oldest continually operating band of its kind in the United States.

Each year students from colleges and universities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are nominated by their band director and chosen to participate by a selection committee.

A nationally known guest conductor is selected, and a challenging program of music is chosen.

A different Pennsylvania university is chosen to host the event each year.

For one weekend in February or March, student musicians and their band directors travel to the host school for two days of intensive rehearsals. Their work begins on Friday and culminates in a recorded concert on Sunday.

The 70th Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival will be held at Grove City College February 10-12, 2017.
