Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Training Ballpark Now LECOM Park

On Friday, February 10, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) announced that the Pirates’ spring training ballpark in Bradenton, Florida will now be known as LECOM Park.

LECOM, the nation’s largest medical college, has a Seton Hill campus (LECOM at Seton Hill). As part of Seton Hill’s collaborative agreement with LECOM, students entering Seton Hill’s Osteopathic Medicine, Dental and Pharmacy Programs can be admitted to medical school at LECOM at the same time. Freshmen can then start their undergraduate studies in the health sciences with the confidence that comes from knowing that they have a med school seat being held for them. Students accepted into these programs often have the additional option of earning a Seton Hill degree and a medical school degree in less time (and for less money). Students studying osteopathic medicine can complete both undergraduate study and medical school “on the Hill,” while students in the dental and pharmacy programs move from undergraduate work to one of LECOM's medical schools in Erie, Pa. or Bradenton, Fla.

Students majoring in sports management at Seton Hill benefit from the program’s ties to the Pirates. Sports management students complete internships with – and sometimes start careers with - the Pirates organization.
