Honors Program

A Program for Students Who Demonstrate Intellectual Curiosity Through Academic Achievement & Community Engagement

The Seton Hill Honors Program is for students who prefer courses with an additional academic challenge - but who aren't interested in adding a lot of extra classes to their course load as they prepare for careers or graduate school. Honors students take Honors Sections of four required liberal arts courses, in addition to one Honors Seminar and one Honors Capstone Experience. Upon completion of the program, Honors students receive "Honors" distinction at graduation and on academic transcripts, and letters of recommendation from the Honors Program Director. Honors students are also eligible for honors scholarships and honors housing. 

By Invitation Only

Qualified students will be invited to participate in the Honors Program by the Honors Program Director after being admitted to the university. To be considered for Seton Hill's Honors Program, first-year students must:

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8 from high school. (Once invited into the Honors Program at Seton Hill, students must maintain a 3.3 GPA throughout their college academic career to remain in the program.)
  • Have an SAT score of 1200 or higher, or an ACT score of 26 or higher.
